Hi! My name is Jessie Liao and I am a hair stylist based in Calgary, Alberta. I have been passionately in love with hair styling for as long as I can remember, and have been professionally crafting hair for 11 years! When I am not behind the chair, I stay inspired with weddings, continual education and collaborations. When I am not doing all those things, you will find me roaming around the city with a cup of latte, my dog and the newest addition to my life, my sweet daughter, Juniper!
So, where do I begin with my love for upstyling? It's been one of my greatest passions since childhood! I have always been fascinated with the way hair can be used to translate a style, an expression, and personality. Although I have always played with hair for family and friends, it was not until my very first bridal gig as a stylist that put me in my element.
To me, bridal styling is becoming a part of a romantic experience. Each couple, their love stories fuels my soul, and creativity. (I am obviously a hopeless romantic.) My bridal style is romantic, modern yet timeless. Each bride I connect with, I am inspired and dedicated to meet their standards, and create a vision that reflects their personal style for their happily-ever-after. To see each joyful bride and the sparkle in their eyes is why I love doing what I do, and to be able to a part of these beautiful moments over and over is so incredible in words that I cannot describe!
I am truly grateful for those who I have had the opportunity to connect with already, and every lovely person that has made this all possible! It was a no brainer to choose Jessie as our hairstylist for myself + bridesmaids. She comes highly recommended from the Calgary wedding (and non-wedding!) community, and has so much experience and expertise. We had a very large group of girls getting ready in the morning with a variety of hair types and styles wanted, but she was able to expertly create beautiful individualized hairstyles that lasted all day and night. She was also very prompt in answering + responsive over email/ social media. I wouldn’t have wanted any other artist to be a part of my big day!

Jessie is one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. She has a calming energy that instantly puts you at ease—a true gift, especially on your wedding day. Working with her was such a joy, and her years of expertise shows! Jessie was able to help me figure out a hair style that was ‘me’ so that I felt most comfortable on my wedding day.
On the day of the wedding, she worked her magic on me, my bridesmaids, my mom, my mother-in-law, and even managed to squeeze in my grandmother! Jessie tailored each hairstyle to suit everyone’s individual needs and did it all in a very efficient manner. She was also so kind and sweet with my mother-in-law, who can be shy around new people—and that small, thoughtful gesture honestly lit me up.

Jessie is an absolute dream to work with, and I cannot imagine booking anyone else for my wedding. She's an unbelievable stylist with the exact personality you want to be around on your wedding day. Jessie listens, is calm and fun to be around, and helps translate your ideas into your perfect hair.
I had a rough idea of what I wanted but also wanted to give her freedom to figure out what worked for my hair and appearance. I got emotional after the trial run because she got it so perfectly, and genuinely it gave me so much confidence on our wedding day. Jessie also did an incredible job on all of the family and friends she styled as well. I was so giddy seeing how happy and beautiful every single person she styled looked.
On top of all this, there was a crazy weather phenomenon that rolled in a few days before our wedding day, and Jessie helped us completely pivot to be able to pull off a sunrise vow exchange only days out. This woman is a legend, and it's so clear why so many of my other vendors recommended her to me in the first place. I highly recommend choosing an MVP like Jessie for the most important day of your life!

From the trial to coming into my parents home on the morning of our wedding, Jessie was warm, fun and very talented.
