Hair Prep Guide 24 hours prior to your wedding day
OMG, it’s finally here—the day you’ve been dreaming about and planning for so long! It’s going to be the best day ever! I can’t wait to see you in the morning, glammed up and surrounded by your best girls. To make sure your hair looks absolutely perfect and lasts all day, here’s a quick and easy prep guide for the night before.
The Night Before:
Wash & Dry Your Hair Properly
Make sure to wash your hair the night before using a mild or clarifying shampoo with a hydrating conditioner. Avoid heavy after-care products like leave-in conditioners, oils, or serums—these can make your hair too soft or slippery for styling.
Let It Air Dry or Blow Dry Smoothly
Your hair should be completely dry when you arrive. Damp or wet hair can affect how your style holds, and we want your look to last all day (and night)!
The Morning Of:
Wear a Button-Down or Loose Top
This one’s important! A button-down or a loose, wide-neck top will make it easy to change into your dress without messing up your hair.
Delegate the Steaming!
If your dress or veil needs steaming, have a bridesmaid take care of it before you start getting ready, best if this can be done first thing in the morning before anyone starts getting ready. Steam creates humidity, and too much moisture can cause unwanted frizz or loosen curls. Keeping your hair away from the steam will help it stay flawless.
Pack All Your Accessories
Veil, clips, hairpins, or any other accessories—make sure you have everything ready to go! If you have prepared your own clip-in extensions, they should be washed, dried, and brushed out beforehand. If you need help with this, I offer an extension prep service as well!
I can’t wait to see you in the morning and bring your dream bridal look to life!
